Boo and Build
It's not uncommon in New Orleans to find a closet or two full of costumes in just about any house you come to. Between Mardi Gras, Halloween, and... well, who needs an excuse? We love to dress up!
This year, NOAHH was joined by Advil #ReliefInAction volunteers with that spirit in mind for our first Boo and Build, complete with tarot card reader, costume contest, a little music, and, of course, some hard work building homes!

"This Nail Is FOREVER"
Susan Shipley has been visiting the city for decades, and after Hurricane Katrina, she found herself needing to give back.
"I decided I could return some of the kindness New Orleans had always bestowed upon me and help contribute to bringing back people who wanted to return. So that is how, at age 60, I came to hammer my first nail into my first Habitat home... The joy was feeling 'This nail is FOREVER. No storm will take this house or the family who lives here.'"
Contributing to the city has had such an impact on her that she not only continues to volunteer, but she has also decided to include NOAHH in her will. She has left her mark on the city, and NOAHH is extremely grateful for her support.
If you wish to speak with a NOAHH representative about planned giving, email Marguerite Oestreicher.
Neighborhood Partnership
NOAHH partnered with St. Roch CDC not just to build a home for Pastor J.B. Watkins, but also to solidify our commitment to the St. Roch neighborhood. With his new Habitat home, Pastor Watkins is right around the corner from his church, allowing him to be better able to meet the needs of his congregation.
Planting for the Future
The New Orleans Fruit Tree Project has partnered with NOAHH through our Habitat Urban Gardens program, and recently, they expanded to include us in their Planting for the Future program! Read more about their programs and partnership here.

I Am New Orleans
Your support has helped so many New Orleanians. From the aspiring chef working on her first home to the young family of a hospitality worker, the people whose lives you've changed are the foundation of what makes New Orleans great.
We thank you for everything you've made possible. No matter if you're a one-time volunteer, a frequent donor, or a long-time friend of the affiliate, because of the impact you've created, you are New Orleans.
Giving Tuesday
As a complement to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, there has been a national push to make the Tuesday after Thanksgiving into Giving Tuesday. Help NOAHH by giving and spreading the word!
